I spend my days either seeing the light or being the light. As a daughter, sister, niece and granddaughter, I am constantly surrounded by strong, brave women who have blazed a trail for me to walk upon with my head held high.
You see, I love reading and poems are music to my ears. When I heard the words to this poem, I internalized them and realized that they tell the story of my life.
Whether it is motivating myself to see the light on days when I am challenged by school work or being the light on days when I teach young dancers to follow their passion, I find new ways to be brave everyday.
On most days, you will find me making Tik Toks in between hours of studying for my Advanced Placement classes or dreaming up the next experiment for AP Chemistry while baking brownies which I love to do.
During the school day, you will find me talking to my teachers and school leaders about the next way to improve student life before running to my car when the bell rings so I can get to the dance studio to teach a dance class.
I am a hard-working, spirited and bold young lady aspiring to be an Anesthesiologist. My personal mission is to be the very best “me” that I can be, realizing all of my potential and taking advantage of the sacrifices that my parents made to put me in a position for success. And as always, either trying to see the light or be the light!
